Philosophy

This is a literature-focused humanities course that describes various philosophical concepts through the written works of selected philosophers such as Aristotle, Socrates, Augustine, Kant, among others. At the end of this course, the student shall acquire a developed sense of different ideologies that govern each individual's daily life, entailed by various philosophical movements imprinted through literature throughout history.

Critical Writing

This course equips students with the proper knowledge and skills to analyze and evaluate written texts, as well as structure and write technical works with the utilization of proper analysis, logic, semantics, persuasion, and precision. Reading and writing strategies involving critical thinking skills and logic shall be discussed and developed throughout the course, with the provision of assessments for the enhancement of each learner's skills.

Creative Writing

This course engages students in intensive study of different creative-focused literary works from various eras throughout history. Students will be engaged in creative and critical analysis of the said literature, and later on adapt thes techniques they pick up on onto their own written works. The main objective of this course is to provide students with the necessary skills and technique in order to produce works of utmost quality and creativity.

Narrative Writing

Through readings and exercises, this course shall explore on the craft of storytelling, employed by the works of prominent written work from earlier eras in history up to the modern age. This course aims to develop student technique through narrative assessments whilst providing constructive feedback for the improvement of each individual student.

Speech Writing

This course provides an in-depth discussion of strategies in analyzing audiences, choosing tone, and other rhetorical concepts necessary for crafting quality speeches. Learners will develop their own techniques, styles, and rhetorics to effectively deliver key points confidently and accurately in their own respective speeches.

Journalism

This course outlines general concepts in journalism; namely, research, news writing, revising, photography, layout, and elements in production. Journalistic skills acquired from this course shall equip the student in potential careers of different fields such as communication, TV and digital production, broadcasting, and the likes.


Grading System

All students are given reports of their respective course performance/s by the end of each semester. Our Academy uses General Weighted Average (GWA) to grade our students in each subject. The interpretations are as follows:
